This necklace represents my transformation from a scientist to an artist.  The design is inspired by the process in geology where garnets are formed in metamorphic rocks.  The rock is put under pressure and as the layers press together and slide they start to roll up into garnets.  I used actual garnets that I personally mined in Idaho in this piece.
